Useful tips to Enhance & Renovate your house elevation

Generally in our traditional house or even in many modern residential housing, we have minimal exposed walls in the facade. Most of our elevation is exposed through balconies, chajjas, windows, sunshades, etc.

A good approach could be to highlight these features in the facade.

  1. We can enhance our Balconies by using elements like wooden louvers in false ceilings, and different types of Jaalis in the facade (like GRC, steel, and terracotta), and combining them with ambient lighting.wooden louvers in false ceilings
  2. For other features like chajja beam bottoms, sunshades we can use stone or tile cladding, or even HPL cladding for more variety in designs and provides more durability to the structure.stone cladding
  3. For the remaining area, use simple colors and go with texture paint. This combination of highlighted features and simple textured walls will enhance your house’s look. Since texture paint provides efficient weatherproofing, it will help to avoid the ugly dampness that comes after rainy weather.texture paint

Say, suppose your house doesn’t have such features to highlight like in a single-story house. In that case, we can redevelop boundary walls using different materials like stone/tile cladding, terracotta Jaalis, etc. with a play of light. We can also include a waterbody in the adjacent verandah walls as well.

Extra tip: Introduce a greenery element in your house in the form of a feature wall, vertical garden, and even on the balcony to give a more aesthetic and graceful look with a subtle charm.
